Google Workspace for Education accounts includes email, Google Drive, Google Sites and Google Calendar service for students and employees. Other services may be added in the future as they are available and appropriate.
The App Store has thousands of apps designed for teaching and learning. We have curated collections with remote learning apps for institution and educators, apps to learn from home and apps that work with Schoolwork.1 Distribute them with Apple School Manager so that teachers can use them to distribute materials, communicate with students, and continue providing engaging learning experiences.

How will it be used?G-Suite will provide the ability for students and teachers to store files and collaborate on documents, spreadsheets, and presentations in real time from school or home within a "closed campus" online environment. The use of these tools is optional, and intended to provide an approved and supportable alternative to "consumer" Google accounts.
How will my child access KGCS G-Suite for Education?With teacher guidance, students must first activate their G-Suite account and set their password from a computer at school. Why can't my child e-mail me with this account?KGCS G-Suite is a "walled garden". It will not allow students to send or receive email outside of the KGCS G-Suite domain. You will not be able to email your student at his or her kgcs.k12.va.us address, nor will they be able to email you.
G-Suite in the ClassroomWhat apps are available and how can I expect my child's teacher to use them?KGCS G-Suite for Education will provide students with secure and easy online access to documents, spreadsheet, presentation and communication tools that can be accessed easily from home or school and enhance teacher and student collaboration in the classroom and beyond.Teachers can use Google Docs to facilitate group projects and use the history tool to see the level of participation of each student in a group. Teachers will be able to give feedback to students directly in documents shared with a teacher. Turning in assignments will be as easy as sharing the file in Google Docs with the teacher, or by emailing it to the teacher through the student's KGCS G-Suite account.
Why is Google necessary for the students; can't the teachers just answer the students' questions?The use of G-Suite for Education is another tool KGCS provides to help students and teachers communicate, collaborate, apply critical thinking skills, and work creativity. Teachers will continue to answer students' questions in the classroom. G-Suite for Education provide students an additional opportunity to ask a teacher question electronically, helping students learn to communication in a real world environment.

Why do students need an e-mail in elementary school? Isn't there another way to communicate?Providing elementary students with a closed email address will allow for streamlined collaboration among their peers and teachers, and provides a consistent digital tool that can be accessed from home and at school. The University of Puget Sound is partnering with Google to make the Google Suite of Apps (G Suite) available to Puget Sound students, faculty, and staff. Effectively immediately, all faculty, staff and students will be able to login with their Puget Sound credentials to access apps like Drive, Docs, and Google Sites, all with unlimited storage. The Google Suite will enable communication, document sharing and collaboration across campus for campus groups, classes, and inter-departmental collaboration. We have not yet implemented the email or calendar tools as this would require a major conversion. We will continue to examine what would be needed to do so.
Puget Sound will continue to host email and calendaring through Webmail. Students, faculty, and staff can still access email at webmail.pugetsound.edu. Users will get G Suite notifications when a document has been shared or updated via Webmail. We have not yet implemented the email or calendar tools as this would require a major conversion. We will continue to examine what would be needed to do so.
Internet access is required to install and activate all the latest releases of the Office suite. Internet access is also required to check your CSN email; however, it's not required to use the Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint if the applications are fully installed on your computer.

Tufts provides current students with email and a calendar via Microsoft Office 365. Tufts alumni, starting with the Class of 2015, can keep their @tufts.edu email address for life and forward to the email address of their choice.
