Baked Pasta and Ham with Bechamel Sauce and Mozzarella

Damn Delicious, I love your recipes! Made this tonight using the last of the never-ending Christmas ham. It was so good! Next time I may skip the peas, as I could live without them, and that seemed to be the thing that freaked my family out.

Loved it! Final dinner using our leftover Easter ham. I did add about 1/2 an onion with the garlic. The only pasta we had was cheese tortellini, so used that. Went well with the sauce. Next time I will try with spaghetti. Thanks for the recipe.

pasta and ham recipes

Wow! I was looking for a recipe using pasta, ham and parm and I hit the jackpot. Made as is except I only used 1/2 t of thyme and basil. Will definitely make again as I always have cubed ham in my freezer. Thanks for such a delicious and easy recipe for weekday suppers. I have enough to freeze and have another night.

There are some wonderful pasta recipes with prosciutto crudo, like this recipe for tagliolini with San Daniele prosciutto and poppy seeds. However, there are so so many pasta recipes with cooked ham! Some are traditional in particular regions, others are popular all over the country. The 7 traditional Italian pasta recipes below are just an example of the many ways Italians pair cooked ham with pasta.

This is a traditional dish from Naples, Southern Italy. Like other pasta al forno recipes, baked ziti al gratin is popular for family meals on Sundays and holidays. However, this delicious baked pasta comes together very quickly and can easily be on your menu for weeknights too.

This creamy cheesy pasta alla Valdostana comes from the Aosta Valley in Northern Italy. The Aosta Valley is famous for its cheese, particularly Fontina a super melting cheese used in many dishes including Italian fondue. Apart from the cheese all you need is ham, butter, parmigiano and cream, oh and the pasta, of course! Have it on the table in 30 minutes!

Another recipe from Naples, these pasta arancini are a popular street food that date back to the 1800s! Made with pasta nests filled with ham and cheese and then breaded and fried, these will win you over on the first bite! They are perfect as a snack, light lunch or as party food. Also, a great way to use up leftover pasta.

It was DELICIOUS!! So creamy but not overly heavy, I added a few more sautéed veggies and was nervous about the eggs but it all came together and the bubbling hot sauce mixed with the hot pasta cooked the eggs. What a meal, so yummy!! Jennifer

Cook pasta about half way and drain. Make the sauce with butter, garlic, onion, rosemary, flour and milk. Add cheese and sour cream. Combine pasta, ham and sauce into a baking dish. Refrigerate or bake immediately.

This is a great alternative to ham and potato casserole. Switch up the pasta for what you have on hand or your favorite. You can also switch up the cheese, white cheddar or gouda would be great options.

Had leftover ham from Easter dinner; I googled recipes and this came up-- caught my eye as I had all the ingredients already. This is delicious! Very easy to prepare, and you can tweak the recipe (I didn't have rosemary so used Tuscan seasonings). Thanks for a very tasty dish to use up holiday leftovers. It will go in my favorite recipes file.

During the holidays we always make ham, and always have a lot of leftover ham! This of course is not a problem because there are so many delicious things to make with the leftovers! I am going to share a few of my favorite leftover ham recipes other the next few days because delicious holiday food shouldn't just last one day.

My all-time favorite leftover ham recipes is Scalloped Potatoes and Ham. However, I also love my Slow Cooker Pea Soup with Potatoes and Ham, and Ham Salad for lunch! I also can't forget Ham and Cheese Gnocchi Skillet.

This recipe is so fantastic for a weeknight. It is all made in one-pot and cooks in under 30 minutes. This pasta also only requires 5 ingredients. Budget friendly, delicious, and my kids love it! Creamy, cheesy, smokey, and it makes great lunches for the weekday!

I love recipes like this Ham Tetrazzini recipe that take a little leftover meat and stretch it into a filling, economical family meal. Just add a salad and maybe some bread and you have a meal that will satisfy even the hungriest of teenagers.

Made this recipe with a ham on sale post Christmas at Walmart ($10 marked down from $20). Doubled the recipe, 1 is in the freezer. Also made the ham pot pie on the same website, again doubled, one frozen. Deep dish pie crusts on sale for 50 cents each. I still have ham left for ham salad sandwiches & some ham & bean soup & a quiche or two. So for about $20 ( cost of beans, piecrust, veg , pasta & dairy) I have a ton of well balanced delicious family meals . Thanks Christin for offering some well balanced, delicious uses for leftover ham.

The starchy liquid from the pasta mingles with the acidic tomatoes and makes a wonderfully light sauce to coat the noodles. I used a Penna Regate pasta, but you could make this with pretty much whatever you have on hand.

Spring has Sprung! While I realize that the weather may not feel like spring where you are, at least we know it is coming. When a new season starts, I love to embrace and welcome it with flavors and produce of the season. While we are still enjoying some of the comforting recipes like chili and casseroles, it is time to lighten the meals up a bit for spring.

This homemade baked pasta recipe is filling and delicious! For sides, I recommend a few light dishes. Start with an Italian Fennel, Citrus, Pomegranate and Salad, and serve with a side of Fast Italian No Knead Ciabatta Bread.

Cheesy, warm, and delicious! This is the ultimate baked pasta comfort meal to enjoy on a cold day. It is a meal the entire family will enjoy. This meal is sure to please even picky eaters. It makes a great cozy Sunday meal, or make it in the morning and bake it in the evening on a busy weeknight. It is indulgent and super satisfying. Grab a bowl and feel the "amore" in this baked pasta meal.

So easy and delicious!! Thanks for sharing all your wonderful recipes. Spent two weeks in Italy a few years back and its on my Bucket List for a return trip...... LOVE, Love, Love Italy and its amazing food....

Ciao! I'm Elena. Welcome to my cucina (kitchen). I was born in Italy and grew up spending my summers on the beaches of Sardegna cooking, eating, and sharing tasty Italian meals. Here you will find trusted, achievable, and delicious Italian (and more) recipes that highlight fresh ingredients with a simple process.

I am totally obsessed with this ham pasta salad. It takes only 20 minutes, uses basic ingredients, and is easy on a budget. Despite its simplicity, it's so tasty and makes such a nice presentation, that you can serve it not only as a side dish for a simple weeknight dinner but when entertaining guests. The salad is made with fusilli pasta (you can also use rotini or bow-tie), black olives, green olives, cucumber, red onion, cherry tomatoes, and fresh Mozzarella balls (pearls). The homemade dressing is made of honey, freshly squeezed lime juice, Dijon mustard, and olive oil. You can serve it as a salad, side dish, or lunch, or eat it as a meal. The other quick and easy salads that I recommend are a festive Chicken Pasta Salad with Creamy Poppy Seed Dressing and this comforting Mexican Street Corn Pasta Salad.

This salad pairs beautifully with a simple Italian-style homemade dressing. The ingredients include olive oil, freshly squeezed lime juice, honey, and Dijon mustard. You can also add Italian seasoning. Combine all salad dressing ingredients together in a medium bowl or in a mason jar and whisk well until emulsified. You can use this homemade dressing not only with this ham pasta salad but with any other salad of your choice!

This recipe is on our family meal rotation because it truly is quick. We put the water on the stove to boil, cut up fresh broccoli and cube the ham. By this time the water should be boiling. Angel hair spaghetti is our preference and it cooks in 3-5 minutes. So, we put the pasta in for one minute before adding the broccoli.

When the pasta was al dente, our preference, we drained the pasta and broccoli. Then we put all of the ingredients back in the pan, and stir until everything is warm. We all like to sprinkle parmesan cheese on our plates, but only the adults use a dash of red pepper flakes.

My Instant Pot Mac and Cheese has become one of the most popular recipes around here! We love how easy it is to skip the box and have a cheesy and filling pasta on the table fast. Since you guys love the mac & cheese so much, I wanted to do another pasta in the pressure cooker, but make it with meat so that it's more of a meal. We love ham, and I always keep a package of diced ham in my fridge, but you can make this with leftover ham too!

Whole family loved this! I tried to lighten it up a tiny bit and also use what I had on hand, so I subbed whole wheat pasta, Neufchâtel cheese for cream cheese and plain fat free greek yogurt for the sour cream. Tossed in some peas and broccoli at the end. Will definitely make again! Fast and delicious for a busy weeknight! 2ff7e9595c
